Some Great Events in Savannah and Statesboro that You Won’t Want to MIss

Today I’m using this blog post for a shameful promotion of some really cool events that I’m lucky to be featured in.

October 5 from noon to 4PM

The Book Lady Book Store, 6 East Liberty Street, Savannah

Local Author Day sponsored by The Book Lady Bookstore, now one of Savannah’s landmarks and definitely the place to be if you want to hang out with some cool book-people.  The Book Lady Bookstore sponsors book readings and events throughout the year and always has an impressive collection of great hard bound and paperback new and used books, which is becoming increasingly rare and increasingly needed in our Internet-crazed society. (Wait a minute, am I writing this on the Internet? Face palm).

But don’t come only for me: there will be an impressive lineup of amazing local authors spanning a wide range of genre, subjects, and disciplines: one particular favorite of mine is Tina Whittle, whose mystery books series featuring the sassy Tai Randolph will make you think about all that goes on in the underbelly of Savannah and Atlanta that you didn’t even know.  Tina and I will be sharing a table. Do stop by and chat with us.

Georgia Southern University presents the “Great Minds Series”

October 16, noon to 1pm @ RJ Steak House in South Main Street, Statesboro, GA

Did you know I was a great mind? Well my fellow colleagues at Georgia Southern University honor me by saying so.  On this day, I will give a talk and slide presentation about the historical background of many of my stories.  Moving from history to fiction isn’t the easiest thing to do, and I am thrilled to be able to share with you what captivated my imagination from old stories that had been passed around from generation to generation to the novel in stories from which I will be reading short excerpts.

October 18, 5:30 to 7:30 pm

Wine Tasting, Gourmet Tasting and Book Signing

The Wine Cellar, 5500 Abercorn Street, Savannah, GA

And if you’ve ever read a book about Italy and you came across a recipe, and your mouth began to water and you thought to yourself, I wish I could taste that right now….

Well, now is your chance.  I will be teaming up with Cafe Gelatohhh and the Savannah Wine Cellar to bring you some of the most delicious tastes of Italy…and my book.  Come savor some of the finest Italian wines available this part of the South, and savor some delicious bites of the recipes featured in my book.

Lit Bits, Wine, and Italian Food: what more could you ask for? Why of course, only a signed copy of my book would top it all off.  Check it out and reserve your seat!
